Ally Pally antiques
It was the huge Ally Pally antiques fair on Sunday 16 September. There were lots of stallholders with great mid-century items for sale and we bought quite a few nice bits and pieces. I am particularly pleased with the giant Cathrine Holm stock pot and lovely Rye pot.

stylish stainless steel
I am always on the look out for nice pieces of stainless steel when I am out and about carbooting or rooting around in junk shops. I have kept some of the smaller pieces I have found to use and display but I have gathered together some of the others this week and am listing them all on ebay. Here are a few of the highlights...

Old Hall vase
Last sunday I was able to get to my first car boot sale of 2012. I managed to pick up a few nice items but the star find was this unusual chunky stainless steel vase.
It was made by Old Hall and is a Robert Welch design. I think it was part of the 'Alveston' range and dates from the 1960s. It will be appearing on ebay shortly...

Viners candlesticks
I have quite a few pieces of stainless steel on ebay this week, including pieces by Old Hall and Viners. As well as the stainless steel, I am also selling this unusual pair of pewter candlesticks.
They were made by Viners and designed by Gerald Benney, the renowned silversmith and metalware designer. He is probably most well known for the 'Studio' cutlery range for Viners. The candlesticks feature a fine textured surface which is typical of his work.

More items for vintage market
Here are a few more items I have found which I will be selling at the North London Vintage Market in Crouch End on Saturday..
Carter tile which has been made into a pot stand or trivet. I love this Daisy flower pattern, its very 1960s! I have also seen the design on a fabric by Moygashel.
Nice stainless steel toast rack made by Old Hall and designed by Robert Welch - a classic.
Unusual stainless steel strainer made by Rostrfitt of Sweden
. Nice smooth wooden handle.
Large salad bowl in the Fiesta range by Barker Bros. Very 1950s design of stylised utensils. These are often monochrome in just a bluey grey colour. This one has colour decoration.
T G Green ceramic storage jar with an unusual swirly blue pattern.
