Norwegian Figgjo pottery
I'm always looking out for Scandinavian ceramics for my own collection and I also often have a few items for sale on my stall at the North London Vintage Market. Here is a selection from a market I did last year:
At next weekend's market I'll be selling a couple of nice pieces of Figgjo pottery from my own collection, both in the 'Market' design. This one is a square lidded dish, probably intended for use as a butter dish but it would make quite a useful trinket box for bits and bobs.

My stall at the last vintage market
Here are a few photos of my stall at the last market I did in November. I hope to have more of the same and will post a few pictures of new items over the next few days.

My stall at the last vintage market
Here are a couple of photos of my stall at the North London Vintage Market earlier this month. It was great to be back and it was a really busy day.

Vintage market
After what seems like ages I will be returning to the North London Vintage Market for their next sale on 1 June.
I haven't sorted out exactly what I will be taking yet, but these are a few bits and pieces of ceramics that might be appearing.

Ally Pally finds
It was the giant Ally Pally antique fair this morning. I was quite restrained and only bought these three things!

Figgjo mug
This is my latest ebay purchase, a Figgjo mug in the 'Lotte' pattern designed in 1962 by Turi Gramstad Oliver. I'd never seen a mug in this range before so I was very pleased to snap it up.
Norwegian ceramics and enamel
This months Homes & Antiques magazine includes a big feature on Norwegian mid-century ceramics and enamelware. Here are some pictures.

We have been watching the Wimbledon final this afternoon but its proving difficult viewing so have decided to post some photos of my stall at yesterday's North London Vintage Market instead.

Figgio pottery
Here is a close up photo of another one of my weekend purchases, a Figgio mini tureen in the 'Saga' design. I have photographed it with a couple of other items in this pattern which I have on display in our kitchen.

Holiday shopping
We have just got back from a much needed pre-bank holiday mini-break to Rye in East Sussex. Both Rye and neighbouring Hastings have loads of great vintage/antique/junk shops and I think we pretty much scoured all of them during our three days in the area.
I unpacked all the finds this morning once we were back home:
I was particularly pleased to find a scarce Hornsea pottery 'Aphrodite' vase designed by John Clappison, here's a close up photo:

My stall at the vintage market
I had a pretty good day at the North London Vintage Market last Saturday. Its always hard to predict what will sell at each market and, as usual, a few things that I thought would be snapped up quickly came back home with me!
I did sell quite a few vintage tablecloths and other bits of fabric though and I took my nice vintage trunk to display them in.
Here are a couple of pictures of my stall.

Vintage market next weekend
After a bit of a break I will be at the North London Vintage Market in Crouch End again next weekend on Saturday 5th May. I have just spent all afternoon trying to get myself organised and am now (almost) all packed up ready to go.
This time I will have quite a few textiles for sale, mostly vintage tablecloths and tea towels.
I have also taken a few pictures of some of the ceramic items I will have for sale.

Buttons, Brooches and a Big Bowl
I haven't been selling at any of the North London Vintage Markets over the summer but have been busy buying at carboots, antique fairs and markets and have also been delving deeper into all the various boxes and crates of ceramics and glass that I have squirrelled away. I am now getting everything organised for my first market since June which is on 1 October.
As before I will be selling mostly mid-century ceramics including many Scandinavian pieces, but I will also have examples of 1960s art glass and interesting pieces of kitchenalia, homewares and fabrics. I have also gathered together some quirky pieces of jewellery and some nice vintage buttons:

Flowers and Figgjo
I always like using the bits and pieces I have collected over the years. This Norwegian Figgjo jug is a favourite of mine (the design is Maja) and looks great holding flowers. I bought this big bunch of peachy dahlias in the Highgate Horticultural Society auction yesterday afternoon..
