Fruity glassware

At the last car boot I bought a vintage glass jug with a pear pattern (I can't resist anything with a pear print - blame Orla Kiely). When I got home I realised that I have a few other fruity pieces. I think they might all be French.

Car boot finds

I returned to the Chiswick car boot this month for the first time since I moved to North London. Its not as easy to get to now I don't live round the corner but definitely worth the journey.

Here are a couple of the things I bought.

The Poole Delphis plate I think was painted by Angela Wyburgh in the late 1960s. The cup and saucer are Midwinter, they are in the fashion shape but I haven't been able to identify the pattern.

Dartington daisy bowl

This is another one of my Rye finds.

It is a large Dartington glass 'daisy' bowl designed by Frank Thrower. I have had quite a few of these before but this is the first one I have seen in the grey coloured glass known as 'midnight'.

I am told these are quite rare and I think it probably dates from the 1960s as the colour was discontinued from 1967.

Cinque Ports Pottery

It would be wrong to go on holiday to Rye and not buy something from the Rye potteries.

I bought this little pot in a junk shop in Hastings on our minimoon. From the back stamp it looks like an early piece made by the Cinque Ports Pottery between 1956 and 1960.

Wedding flowers

Its just over a week since our big day. I managed to salvage a few of the wedding flowers as a reminder and they were just about still alive to cheer us up when we came back from our mini-moon to Rye.

Its a bit odd not having anything to organise now its all over.. I will have to start focusing on the blog again and hopefully get out and about to some carboots if the weather continues to improve.

Vintage bird fabric

Unpacking continues at the new flat. This weekend we have been hanging pictures. Two have already fallen off the wall!

I found a few things I had forgotten about which have been left languishing since I last moved house and I rediscovered this ususual fabric place setting which I had put in a frame.

I don't know who the designer is and would love to hear from anyone out there who might know.

New home

After many weeks of online inactivity I have finally come back to my blog. We have now moved to our new place so have spent the last few weeks settling in and exploring the local area. I have gradually been unpacking all of my ceramics, though the glass is all still boxed up.

We have more space here so I have been able to display things that were all hidden away before.

Here is a photo of some of my Cathrine Holm pots and pans.

A flowery pot

I have been neglecting the blog of late as things have finally picked up with our prospective move. We have started the epic task of packing and I have been trying to force myself to sell off some more bits and pieces.

I have just listed a glass spotty handkerchief vase on ebay which I have had for quite a few years now so I think its time for it to go.

While packing I also found this nice little lidded pot which usually sits on my bookcase. Its made by T G Green with a design called 'Blumen'. The designer is Colin Haxby. I have done a bit of web searching but have not found many other images of pieces from this range or much information about the designer.

Does anyone out there know anything about Colin Haxby or his work for T G Green?
